We are seeking expressions of interest, in the position of
Trustee with The Running Bee Foundation
Through Running Bee Foundation events, we champion health and wellbeing initiatives, promote the benefits of an active lifestyle and help in the fight to reduce childhood obesity.
Our mission is to make funding accessible to all parts of the community.
Together we can #BeeActiveBeeHealthyBeeHappy
What will you be doing?
The Running Bee Foundation are looking to recruit Trustees with a specialism in the areas of Health & Wellbeing (Children & Adults), Creative Marketing & Design, Disability & Inclusion, Grant Applications and Sponsorship. We are a hard-working group of Trustees but we are seeking specific assistance to enable us to move forward, to reliably achieve our objectives, while ensuring all uncertainties and risks are well managed.
The foundation feels now is the right time to develop our board and welcome fresh talent as we return to delivering our fundraising activities in mid-2021. The Running Bee Foundation is still new in relative terms as we formed in December 2018 and to that end, having Trustees with experience in the sports and/or leisure sector is essential to help us move to the next level; to ensure we are more effective and efficient in our mission.
You will work closely with the Foundation’s Operations Manager and the Chair of Trustees as well as the wider Board of Trustees to guide and support, with a view to fulfilling the foundation’s mission.

The role would amount in the main to attendance at meetings, these are usually quarterly (2 hours each) and ad hoc attendance at Sub-Committee meetings when required, the latter are usually held monthly. Similarly, occasional correspondence via email and mobile phone may be necessary.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidates will be local to the foundation not only for their convenience in attending meetings but also so they can get to enjoy (and maybe participate) in the type of fundraising activities we deliver such as walking, running and cycling. We are looking for individuals who have the time to really make an impact and can help to engage more supporters (individuals and businesses) across the North West. We are happy to embrace anyone who is not afraid to tell us where we can improve, someone who is impartial, someone who is passionate about making a difference while at the same time working towards our mission.
What difference will you make?
Having a dynamic, diverse and independent Board of Trustees will help us to progress and ultimately help more of those charities and good causes across the North West who need us. A fresh pair of eyes will ensure that The Running Bee Foundation remains one of the most recognised charities in the region for what we do.
What’s in it for you?
This is a chance to make a real difference to a new but well-established foundation. There are continued plans to grow and develop the foundation and the Board of Trustees is key in this progression. Attendance isn’t compulsory at The Running Bee Foundation events, however, we would hope you would want to come and experience what we do for yourself and see how our hard work translates to the end-users.
