Think Inside The Box – The Running Bee Foundation team up with Aquapax Water!

he Running Bee Foundation has partnered with Aquapax, the original planet conscious carton water brand.

The Running Bee Foundation will be reducing up to 50,000 single-use plastic bottles a year by making the switch over to Aquapax. Timber for the carton board material is sourced from FSC Certified sustainable forests and the cartons are wholly recyclable.  The cartons are safely refillable and reusable once used, so The Running Bee Foundation will be encouraging runners to refill the cartons whenever possible.

Commenting on the partnership, Seb Stall (Marketing Manager) from Aquapax said, “We’re extremely proud to be partnering with The Running Bee Foundation. The foundation’s community initiatives are truly fantastic, and we share the same goals when it comes to promoting health and wellbeing. Also, Stephen Owen, Operations Manager for The Running Bee Foundation said, ‘’we are delighted to be working with Aquapax to provide runners with water at our events. We are working hard to create a more sustainable approach to our races, given the 1000’s of people we welcome each year. This is the first step to making that change!’’

Every part of the Aquapax carton is recyclable at end of life, helping to reduce the use of virgin materials and cut carbon emissions. After every event, any empty cartons will be returned back to the Foundation’s HQ to be collected and delivered directly back to the UK’s beverage carton recycling facility in Halifax.

The Running Bee Foundation was founded and is supported by Sports Tours International. The Foundation will provide grants from the profits raised from all its UK races to give to community initiatives across the North West, and help to promote health and wellbeing and the fight to tackle and reduce childhood obesity.
