The Running Bee Foundation launches MyFirst™ Mile

The Running Bee Foundation has launched a brand new initiative to promote the benefits of starting to live a more active and healthy lifestyle in 2020.

MyFirst™ Mile has been created to encourage individuals and communities to complete their very first mile, whether they run, walk or jog, and take the first step towards having an active, healthy and happy lifestyle. MyFirst™ Mile will be accessible via The Running Bee Foundation’s 10k running events; including the newly announced Knowsley 10k at Knowsley Safari on 15th March, the hugely popular Tour of Tameside from 11th – 14th June, City of Manchester 10k on 5th July, City of Salford 10k on 6th September and City of Preston 10k on 27th September.

Commenting on the launch, Stephen Owen, The Running Bee Foundation Operations Manager, ‘’Completing a 10k can be a daunting thought for someone who has never run before, so we have introduced the MyFirst™ Mile initiative to help people find their confidence and in time, strive to complete their first big run! We are helping people to get active and running is a great place to start.’’

On completing the mile, runners will receive a commemorative medal and e-certificate of achievement.

‘’MyFirst™ Mile is a great starter challenge for anyone looking to get fitter and healthier in 2020 – we look forward to celebrating this great achievement with runners!’’

MyFirst™ Mile is now available via the Knowsley 10k event, to apply visit https://bit.ly/2QCiXKI

All profits from MyFirst™ Mile entries will be donated to communities in the areas that The Running Bee Foundation’s events are delivered, to help create and improve health and wellbeing initiatives in the area.
