The Running Bee Foundation appoints Jan Collins as a new member of their Board of Trustees

The Running Bee Foundation has appointed Jan Collins, the Head of Sales at TalkTalk Business, to their Board of Trustees.

Jan has more than 20 years of experience working with leading names in the technology sector, heading departments at Cisco, Virgin and Vodafone – both in the UK and across the globe.

A born and bred Mancunian, Jan is happy to be back and located in Salford Quays with TalkTalk after a career spent travelling to London, the Nordics, Benelux countries and even the USA.

It is a passion for her roots in the North West and the community outreach the Foundation is committed to, that drew her to become involved with The Running Bee – alongside a joint vision of health and wellbeing for all.

Commenting on her appointment, Jan said; “Lockdown gave us all an appreciation of not only physical wellbeing but the positive impact exercise has on our mental health too. As a mother of two myself, it made me realise I needed to address my own and my family’s health and well-being and make regular exercise a core part of our family life. If there’s ever been a time when every single one of us, from child to grandparent needs to be happier and healthier, it’s now. So I am excited to work with the Running Bee Foundation to spread this message, and help support people and organisation that are doing so much for their communities.”

Carl Austin-Behan, Chair of the Trustees for The Foundation, said “Jan’s expertise in communications, sales and strategy are truly exciting to us at The Running Bee Foundation – alongside her passion for physical and mental wellbeing, and is integral in helping us champion the  benefits of an active lifestyle and help in the fight against childhood obesity.

The Foundation provides grants from profits raised from all its UK races to community initiatives across Manchester and the North West, all to help promote health and wellbeing and the fight to tackle and reduce childhood obesity.

“The Running Bee Foundation is an amazing charity and as a girl from the North West, the local community initiatives inspired me to not only dust down my Reeboks but also volunteer my help wherever I could.

“I am immensely proud to be part of The Running Bee family and feel much more comfortable in the knowledge that my support will help community initiatives right here in this region.”
