Rise in COVID cases puts SPAR City Of Preston 10K on pause

Preston City Council have informed The Running Bee Foundation that the SPAR City of Preston 10K will not be allowed to go ahead on October 25th 2020. A new date of March 28th 2021 has been proposed so any runners who have already reserved a place in October can be automatically ‘rolled over’ into next year.

A spokesperson for Preston City Council said; “The number of confirmed COVID cases within Preston has seen a continued and sustained rise over previous weeks. As a result, restrictions will remain in place. As a result of this, the City council in line with its policies and outlined conditions is forced to rescind consent for the SPAR City of Preston 10K scheduled to take place on October 25th.”

This is heart-breaking news for the city and the charity as we give all profits back to communities and groups in Preston to help promote health and wellbeing and to fight childhood obesity.
