Postponement of the 2020 ‘We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K’ and ‘Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity Salford 10K’

Postponement of the 2020 ‘We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K’ and ‘Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity Salford 10K’
In the interest of the safety of all participants, staff and their families, The Running Bee Foundation has made the decision to postpone the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity Salford 10K – due to take place next month on the 22nd and 29th of November 2020.
The Foundation has been working within the policies and conditions set out by both City councils involved, keeping in mind the rising number of COVID cases in our region and the implementation of Tier 3 lockdown restrictions.
In light of this, both races will instead take place next year – with the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K set for Sunday 4th July 2021 and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity Salford 10K on Sunday 5th September 2021 – with all existing bookings being automatically transferred to the new date.
Commenting on the news, Founder and trustee of the Running Bee Foundation Chris Bird said:
“Our charity like many others have had to make very difficult decisions this year which have impacted our fundraising and also our distribution of grants to support health and wellbeing projects and initiatives to help reduce childhood obesity across the North West.
“We will now plan for 2021 delivering more events than ever and setting our fundraising goals even higher in our mission to deliver a more active, healthy and happy lifestyle in our communities.
“On behalf of all trustees and colleagues at the Running Bee Foundation, I would like to thank our fantastic running community, volunteers, sponsors, local media and our friends in Manchester, Salford and Preston for all their support at this difficult time for everyone.”
