Morecambe Runners supporting Ron Hill’s Legacy
Morecambe Community Runners are a welcoming group who look to improve people’s lives through exercise, and soon they will be joining forces with The Running Bee Foundation.
Taking on the Ron Hill Accrington 10k, the club are beyond excited to walk in Ron’s footsteps and cover an exciting route. Encouraging everyone to run, no one gets left behind and Morecambe Runners say they will start and finish the race together.
“This race has more significance because it’s in honour of the legend Ron Hill who inspired thousands of people to lace up their shoes and get out running.
“Whilst doing this, he never forgot his roots and always looked to help others, leaving his amazing legacy in Accrington,” says Stuart, founder of Morecambe Community Runners.
This ethos, Stuart says, is something the club strongly believe in, building a fantastic community of like-minded people.
With 7 runners and 8 volunteers, Morecambe Community Runners will be a strong force at the race, providing their kind smiles as they volunteer and complete the course.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing our team of runners complete the race, it’s an honour and an immense privilege to be involved.
“It will be a proud moment at the Ron Hill Accrington 10k, everyone has worked so hard to put this race together.”
The team will be running the Ron Hill Accrington 10k on Sunday 14 August, celebrating the life and legacy of the inspirational athlete.
