5 Reasons to Run the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K!

The We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K is fast approaching! And with it comes the opportunity to reflect on not just all the great health benefits running events like ours can bring, but also the wonderful effects these events can have for others.

With this in mind, here are our 5 reasons to run the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K this year:

Supporting a great cause

Being a Running Bee Foundation event, it should go without saying that the money raised through your entry fee will go to helping change lives in our communities.

But with the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K, your contribution will have a very specific impact on a lot of people…

Profits from this event in particular will go straight to the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, who serve numerous hospitals around Greater Manchester and help change so many lives on a daily basis.

The work that is done by the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity has been especially helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic, giving you all the more reason to run, support the charity and help BEEt the virus!

Getting back to a running routine

Before the pandemic, you might have been an avid runner who squeezed in their precious hour or more of exercise multiple times a week. Perhaps even every day!

But the pandemic through a definite spanner in the works when it came to exercise, especially in the beginning when people were somewhat restricted about what they could do and where they could run.

Which is why events like the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K are such a godsend for some people – it gives them something to look forward to and, more importantly, gives them a good reason to get back into a solid training routine.

Staying active, healthy & happy

We always encourage our runners to #BeeActiveBeeHealthyBeeHappy in all aspects of their lives, if they can. And one aspect that’s extremely important is not just our physical health, but our mental health too.

Running (and exercise in general) has been shown to significantly reduce the symptoms of several mental health conditions like stress, depression and anxiety.

Training for and running in an event like the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K could be just the pick-me-up your body and your mind has been looking for.

Shirts & Medals

Any enthusiastic, regular runner knows that they should never come away from a hard-fought race empty-handed. And we know that too!

That’s why, just like the rest of our races, upon completion of the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K you’ll receive a special commemorative City of Manchester 10K run medal and an official event t-shirt to add to your collection. Or, if this is your first ever run, the start of your brand new collection!

Setting a good example

Right now a lot of young people are growing up in such uncertain and ever-changing times it can be quite overwhelming for them.

And while many of them will no doubt still be glued to their phones, laptops and other electronic devices, one of the very best things you can do as a parent is to encourage more physical activity and a healthier lifestyle for them.

What better way to do that than by training for and running in the We Love Our NHS Manchester 10K? Not only will you be encouraging a more active, healthier and happier lifestyle for your young ones, but you’ll also be reinforcing the importance of doing good things for a noble cause.
