#BeeActiveBeeHealthyBeeHappy… & #BEEtTheVirus

It’s going to take a global effort to overcome the pandemic that our day to day lives now face, but there are ways in which we can help ourselves and others around us beat the virus. It’s now become a daily news bulletin that the government is doubling down on the war against obesity, as a response to the effects of Covid-19, and that exercise, eating healthy and being active needs to be taken seriously.

We’re aware of the health benefits exercise has and it’s been fantastic for us to see so many faces in our local communities lace up their trainers and head out for a run.

Back in June, we inspired 3000 children in Tameside to go outdoors and exercise, with the help of our very own Mo the Bee.

The Dr Ron Hill 7 Mile Challenge proved a great success, read more here >>>  https://www.runningbeefoundation.co.uk/3000-children-in-tameside-put-on-their-running-shoes-for-the-dr-ron-hill-7-mile-challenge/

Exercise is a key component to keeping fit and healthy – a Senior Lecturer at Bath University, James Turner states, ‘’Regular moderate intensity aerobic exercise – such as walking or jogging – is beneficial for maintaining normal immune function. You should aim to do about 150 minutes of these types of exercise a week.’’

At The Running Bee, we champion the notion that exercise can have profound effects on our physical and mental wellbeing, and our aim to encourage more and more people to #BeeActiveBeeHealthyBeeHappy.

Let’s work together to get active, and do everything we can to #BEEtTheVirus!
